The MasterClass is an unique academic experiment to provide the intellectual justification for a field that has been evolving for close to three decades: Dr Berwick identified continous improvement as an ideal in healthcare in 1989 and by the turn of the millennium declared it the foundation of any future healthcare system. This course is an attempt to bring together the increasing number of systematic reviews of empirical studies, the classical tradition of industrial quality and the conceptual contribution of international practitioners in healthcare improvement, seen through the lens of philosophy of science and theories of knowledge. Our hope is to move the conversation from board rooms and conference halls to the bed side. The course is curated by Dr Prakash and will hopefully showcase the best minds in the world.
